The Learning and Writing Centre (IELLI) provides a wide range of training and support for postgraduate research students. These include:

GRADSkills

GradSkills is a programme of skills development workshops and activities to help PhD students during their postgraduate degree. This programme includes key workshops to help you develop your researcher toolkit.

Academic English Language tutorials

Students can book a one-to-one tutorial to help with written and spoken academic English communication.

Academic Skills tutorials

Students can book one-to-one tutorials on various topics, including essay writing, note-taking, studying for exams, and time management.

STARMAST

The St Andrews Resources in Maths and Statistics (STARMAST) is  an accessible, inclusive, and free-to-use bank of online resources in mathematics and statistics made by University of St Andrews staff and students for any student of mathematics or statistics.

Self-paced online materials

Students can access our bespoke online materials to develop academic writing, speaking, listening and reading skills. You will also be able to access key resources on time management and navigating your studies in St Andrews.
